For this 2020 May issue, I am most grateful to the editorial team who truly overextended themselves to get this issue out on time considering the difficult demands of their medical work during this pandemic and the necessity of protecting their families during the lockdown. To the authors, thank you for your unwavering energy to respond to our questions and accordingly revisit your articles.

This present JMUST issue included seven original/research articles, a systematic review and a case report. Expanding the journal reach and attuned to current times, we have incorporated tandem special article types.

Amidst the COVID19 Pandemic: The best online learning and teaching practices in Internal Medicine Clerkship program of Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University Santo Tomas, Philippines

The best online teaching practices in the Internal Medicine Clerkship Program during the COVID-19 pandemic in the oldest university in Southeast Asia and oldest medical school in the Philippines was presented. Time constraint was a big factor during the unforeseen lockdown.

This study aims to explore the expectations and experiences of family carers of youths with chronic neurodevelopmental disorders who have undergone or are about to undergo transition into adult healthcare in a Filipino-based health care system.

To conduct an evaluation of juxtapapillary choroidal thickness of patients suspected with glaucoma obtained through spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and correlate it with perimetry results.

The aim of this research study is to show the value of anterior tibial translocation (ATT) sign as a predictor of ACL tear. More intently, this research study seeks to prove the independent value of anterior tibial translocation sign for deciding ACL status independent of the primary sign.

The Role of Teriparatide in the Management of Fracture Non-Union: A Systematic Review of Case Reports

Teriparatide has been known to aid in the treatment of osteoporosis but its use in the management of fracture disorders is poorly documented. This review aims to show that teriparatide administration may improve the healing process in fractures that fail to unite after sustaining trauma.

Multifocal Motor Neuropathy With Anti-GM1 Antibody: A Filipino Case Report

The aim of the report is to document, for the first time, a case of multiple motor neuropathy in a Filipino who presented with asymmetric weakness and confirmed as having high anti-GM1 antibody titers coupled with abnormalities in electromyography and nerve conduction studies.

Medical Education Through Distance Learning: How Does it Work?

The application of distance learning in medical education has been a continuous challenge to approximate face-to-face clinical skill teaching. Nonetheless, online education has proven to be effective in addressing student satisfaction, engagement, motivation and excellent academic performance. How eLearning evolved in a medical setting through the years and the evolution of state-of-the-art teaching resources will be discussed accordingly.
